Getting it wrong, one bagel at a time.

THIS!

But I am reading a book… Just in a different format. Author and publisher still get paid, plus the resources of trees isn’t being used. Can’t see what is wrong with that.
Agreed (crap, it’s cutting off the part I agree with which was “But I am reading a book… Just in a different format. Author and publisher still get paid, plus the resources of trees isn’t being used. Can’t see what is wrong with that”) .
I don’t see that many people complaining that we don’t watch movies at home using those giant projectors.  Technology evolves and businesses change.  Do you ONLY write letters, not emails?  Do you ONLY listen to vinyl, not mp3s or cd? Do you ONLY call on a landline, never text on your cell?
I can’t help but think this aversion to eReaders is just a bit of snobbery.  I can read so much more now that I have one, because I don’t have to carry a large book around.  Hell, I don’t have to carry every book I own around.
Isn’t the point of reading to read?  Not to physically turn the pages?
I enjoy a physical book too, of course.  My edition of Lord of the Rings is one of the prettiest things I own.  My point is that it doesn’t have to be one or the other.
When I rent a movie, I actually don’t use Netflix.  I go to my local store and rent for 2 dollars a movie.  That’s just how I prefer to do it for a few reasons.  But if I looked down on all of you for using Netflix, then that just makes me a douche.
Stop being douches to eReader readers, is what I’m trying to say.

THANK YOU!
